Early in 2011 Noreen Ramen and Frank Beardmore started a conversation in the forum about starting a new band in the South London area. They were both into new metal and had been to loads of gigs and been in bands before but neither had actually ever played a gig. That was the plan! To keep going no matter what happens to a least get to the "first gig stage". Anything after that would definitely be a bonus.

After first meeting for a coffee and a chat, they set about finding a rehearsal space and booking up their first practise. They spoke online prior to their first rehearsal to discuss which songs they should both learn so that they didn't turn up not knowing any of the same music. The first "jam" went pretty well without breaking any new musical boundaries but the foundation had most certainly been laid.

After a few weeks the guys decided that they should recruit a new band member. A drummer was top of the list so they went to the drummer wanted site and contacted a few local musicians. Although they auditioned two great drummers the pair decided that a duo (with electro drum backing) would be the perfect combination so why change it? Rotten Rebellions were born. The name was chosen completely at random and just seemed to fit the style that they wanted to portray.

In August, after 6 months of hard work they were ready for the first foray into live performance. A support slot at The Garage in Highbury. There were no more than 20 people in the audience including bar staff and the bands groupies. But were they disheartened? Absolutely not, two days later they invited back to the same venue for another support slot on a Friday night and the place was absolutely rammed.

They continued gigging since the summer of 2011 and have now recruited a third member (contrary to early ideas). Jason is a guitarist who also uses an MPD sampler and now creates of all the drum sounds for the band. They used a "Musicians London" service to find Jason and noticed that there were some great musicians for hire on there.

The latest change is that they have now reverted to a two guitar and drums setup! This latest revelation came from the Christian Musician site who are going to be promoting one of their forthcoming singles. Keep an eye for the ensemble as they may well be travelling through your local area. Go and check out one of their gigs and say hello!

Rotten Rebellions first album "The musician story almost told" will be released in 2012 on 20 Music Recordings.
