Musicians needed…

Hi

We are the HandleBards, 4 men on 4 bicycles, touring Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and Romeo and Juliet from Glasgow to London over July and August and we need musicians to play with us along the way! (see our tour dates below)

Throughout the tour we are looking for local bands and musicians to play with us at each of our venues. We want anything acoustic: brass bands, acoustic guitars, drums boxes, violins, fiddles, anything that doesn’t require electricity as most of our performances will be outdoors! If your music is rooted in local culture or you have a folky summery sound then you are exactly what we are looking for!

We need musicians to provide an opening set for 30 mins and a second set during the interval of the show for 15-30 mins. We would also like musicians to learn some simple chords on the day and play along with us at specific points in the show and be willing to engage with the actors, although this part is not entirely necessary! If you have any other ideas about how we can integrate the musicians into the show we would be happy to hear them!

We can’t offer any pay, however most venues are willing to allow the musicians to have collection buckets at the end of the show as well as sell any CDs or merchandise you may have. For more information about specific venues or to express an interest in performing with us please email our Participation Manager on Tom@peculius.com
