We are a contemporary, Indie , folk, pop band called “The Occasional Orchestra” , mainly based in the Midlands and South of England, who are due to release a new album in the next three weeks. If you let us have your email when applying we will send mp3s of new tracks from the new album. You can hear tracks from the previous album on iTunes which is called “22 Arches”.

We are looking for a bass player who is able to play simple, intelligent, effective bass parts.

We do not rehearse constantly, but we expect individuals to prepare themselves in their own time in readiness for rehearsals.

We are looking for reliable conscientious people who would like to get involved with a project that is in its early stages but already receiving great interest from fans and promoters. There is no money involved at this stage as we put any fees straight back into promoting and marketing the band.

We have a management team who are working with and guiding us to make good progress in establishing the band as a serious viable option for festival and venue promoters. We’re not expecting to be swamped with bookings this year but we are laying the foundations for a very busy calendar later this year and into 2016.
We are predominantly family people who take every opportunity to have our partners and children with us at gigs as we tend to play at primarily family friendly festivals and venues. Which means we get to turn it into a family day out as well as a great play.
We expect all members of the band to take on some element of the work load, but only what people feel comfortable with doing and confident that can produce.
We also expect everybody to be helpful and productive with the promotional / marketing aspects, such as photos videos etc.
