Musicians (maybe) for Marcie's Band – Lead Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano

Marcie Mycroft Possibly looking for Lead Guitarist, Bass, Drummer, Piano/Keyboards for her backing band.

NOTE: At this stage I am considering the idea, this is NOT an offer of a job. I may need to form a backing band if I need one to help support live shows I am trying to book. If/when I do form a band I would want it to be on a permanent basis. This advertisement is for early discussion with potential musicians who may be interested in my music.

I am a singer/songwriter based in Cambridgeshire (UK) and have recently made my own album consisting of all my own songs. I am currently trying to arrange gigs and festivals and although I have backing tapes where I played everything on my album, I would eventually like, prefer and need my own band, particularly for festivals where they do not always welcome tapes.

I believe I have a definite style that I have created over a year through songwriting and I want to keep to that as much as possible, with some artistic license to make it more punchy and rocky ‘live’. As the album is already out there though my current and potential new followers will be expecting to hear the ‘Marcie’ sound pretty much like ‘the record’. My songs have already been played on a local radio station and the BBC is also considering them for airplay.

I am professional, hard working, driven and fun and easy to work with but will say if things are not in my style so I can keep my project and product identity on track. For new recordings there is more license to create and try things in the studio and rehearsals. I have my own studio at home of sorts.

Some of my many influences are: Alanis Morissette (absolute idol), Avril Lavigne, Taylor Swift, Colbie Caillat, Vanessa Carlton, Christina Perri, Evanescence, Anastacia, Maroon 5, Paramore, The Sundays, Pink, Joni Mitchell, Blondie, U2, 70’s and 80’s US country-rock bands like Eagles, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt, Laura Nyro etc and Norah Jones.

I understand a lot of musicians want to be part of a group ‘name’ band’ with equal billing, but if you would be interested in being in my backing band with as much recognition and tribute as I can give you, to tour and record, and you really want to help me out here (I am exhausted on my own!)…. then I would love to hear from you with your interest in a project like this!
