King Lagoon’s Flying Swordfish Dance Band are looking for a singer with a high vocal range. We will be getting things going again once the corona virus situation is over. Ability to play percussion/other instruments is an advantage. The singing is mostly in Portuguese so to be able to speak Portuguese or pick up pronunciation quickly is also an advantage.
We have just released an album and songs from it have had at least three BBC 6 plays from Giles Peterson, Lauren Laverene and Gideon Coe. It’s number 19 in Mr Bongo’s albums of the year.

Our live show is about creating a whole experience. We wear costumes and the music is accompanied by an ‘Aroma Wizard’ who produces exotic, tropical smells.
We are a fun group of people who get on really well. We play for fun but do take things seriously and do get paid for gigs. The intention is to go as far as we can with this project; make livings from it, get known worldwide if possible and be able to tour worldwide.
We’ve played Bestival three times, La Briche Foraine in Paris, Glasgow’s SGW3 and London’s Rich mix to name a few. We have headlined a few small festival main stages. The plan is to arrange tours in the UK and Europe and as always, development of music, stage show and more fun! The idea is to continue developing unique styles and musical ideas, particularly rhythmically. So we are looking for someone who can commit to this. Collaborating on music to some extent at least is preferable but it could work for someone who is happy to play what is written for them.
